A two-faced mysterious young man...

Ryker (リュカ, Ryuka) is an apprentice carpenter who doesn't listen to his master. His hands are dexterous and resourceful. He doesn't see eye to eye with Martin [the blacksmith]. Often lectured by his elders, while he's treated like a similarly-aged friend by the younger generation. He's very absentminded during the day, but shows a cooler side at night.

• Ryker's weapon preference is dual blades. To use combo attack techniques with Ryker, you must also use dual blades.
• In the Rune Factory 5 Destined Person ♡ Diagnosis Quiz, Ryker was compared to Kiel from Rune Factory 4/Special. If you're given him as a destined partner, the result reads: "The man of your dreams is Ryker, a two-faced young man training as a carpenter's apprentice. They may not be your type at first, but their dreamy, self-assured vibe will attract you before you know it. He isn't as strong as you, but you'll be impressed by the way he works to achieve what he wants. If you want to know him better, give him something cool that he likes. We recommend an older woman's perspective, who can love him, stay close to him, and watch him grow and develop into a mature man."   Hi there. This is Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, the voice of Ryker. We've just finished recording. So now that everything's over, I'm supposed to say how I thought it went. Man, this is wild. I've actually played Rune Factory on the DS before. But I never imagined I'd end up playing a character like Ryker in the series itself. I was pretty excited about it, to be perfectly honest! All right, so this is more of a personal observation, but... Ryker is a character with two sides to him, right? While I knew he could be pretty edgy, I didn't know just how hard I was supposed to lean into that. But when I asked about it, they told me to act far edgier than I'd expected! I had a great time. I'm so grateful that I had the chance to play him. Now, how would I describe him...? Well, you've got a long road ahead of you if you've set your heart on marrying him. He's also pretty lethargic most of the time. He grows as a person as he builds better relationships with more people, and yet...even after getting married, he never completely loses that edgy aspect of his personality. He's a man who stays true to himself, that's for sure. He'll still space out from time to time after marriage, but just cut him some slack! He is who he is, so don't let your hopes get too high. Surprisingly enough, he can be pretty honest at times. I kept this all in mind as I recorded his lines, so I hope you enjoy listening to them. Moving on... "What would you do if you had to farm for a living in a world full of monsters?" I've always loved the idea of such a world. I've even been thinking about growing a little garden on my balcony. There's this thing you can buy at the convenience store...at least I think they stock it? It's like a super cheap little kit you can use for that very purpose. You just have to add water and fertilizer, and then you're set. I just love that kind of stuff. Honestly, in a world like Rune Factory's, I'd just do whatever I felt like and live a carefree life. With that said... I have a message from Ryker to finish this off, so why don't we listen to what he has to say. Enjoy Rune Factory 5 to the fullest. I look forward to seeing you there again.
