Heinz (ハインツ) is a shopkeeper, but doesn't seem to be too interested in running a shop. He seems to always be dazed and looking for something else to preoccupy himself with. He doesn't like looking directly at people when socializing.

  Hello! This is Takumu Miyazono, the voice of Heinz. It was a real privilege to play a character like him. At first glance, he seems like a laidback, easy-going kind of person...but it's a little tricky to tell what's on the mind of a guy who's all smiles all the time. This is just my personal opinion, but... I think people who seem all loosey-goosey on the surface actually have a lot of inner strength. You could compare people who look tough on the outside to plants with really stiff stems or trunks. Sure, something that tough won't bend very easily... But if a single crack appears, then the whole thing collapses, and it can't return to its original state. Heinz, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of that. To continue to with the plant analogy, he's more like a willow branch swaying in the breeze. However weak it may appear, a willow has strong roots. So strong in fact that, even if it sustains some kind of damage, it can roll with the punches and come out on the other side just fine. That's the impression that his personality left on me. His approach to life seems to involve enjoying life in and of itself. You'll see what I mean when you get to it... But he has a great mantra to live by. I originally thought that it sounded a little paradoxical. He also has another life philosophy. Namely, we laugh because we're happy, and we're happy because we laugh. Or rather, we're here because we're happy, and we laugh when we're happy. They say that happiness attracts happiness, too. So I think that's his personal credo. I, on the other hand, tend to take everything way too seriously. So I wish I could take things in stride like Heinz. I recorded my lines for him half in admiration and half in jealousy. So, in the Rune Factory series itself... You run a farm to make a living. That sounds pretty appealing to me, I have to say. All the things we'd consider out-of-the-ordinary in our world are just part of your everyday life in Rune Factory's world. You've got monsters running amok, for one thing. I'm definitely a fan of animals, but back in the day I was a big fan of the occult. I buy magazines on the topic even now, in fact! I just love reading about monsters recorded in folk legends and esoterica from around the world. So when I think about living in a world where those kinds of strange, mysterious monsters actually exist... I gotta admit that I feel pretty intrigued. As for working on a farm and living a peaceful life... That's another thing I've never tried. I grew up in the city, and while I'm not completely detached from nature, I've never tried to live off the land or anything like that. We've all got responsibilities and obligations that prevent us from taking off and doing something like that. While I'm sure that a world like Rune Factory's would have its own restrictions on what you can and can't do... I doubt they'd resemble anything we experience in our modern society. I'd sure love to live a stress-free life... Wouldn't you? I can't wait to experience such a life in the game myself. So, those of you who have actually been playing the game... As you continue on your adventure, I hope you all find yourselves... Hmm, how should I phrase this...? I suppose "falling in love" is the most appropriate expression here. I hope you all find yourselves falling in love with this world, which has received so much care and attention. Heinz and I would both be very happy if you did. So I do hope that comes to pass.
