Heart Events

These are events that will raise the bachelorette's heart affection level towards the Player.

Karen Stops By

  • Description: In the morning, Karen will stop by and give the Player a refreshing snack or drink to renew his energy. The first time she visits she must be at a Blue Heart, and the second time she visits she will have a Green Heart.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen's Heart Affection level to Blue, then to Green.

Karen Gets Sick

  • Description: The Player visits Karen's house, and is greeted by her mother, Sasha. Sasha says Karen is sick and suggests the Player visit her. If the Player selects "OK", the screen will fade in to Karen's room. After talking to Karen and looking around her room, which is optional, Karen thanks the Player for visiting and the event increases her affection level towards him.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen's Heart Affection Level to Green, and go to her house on a rainy day.

Karen Sprains Her Ankle

  • Description: The Player enters the Vineyard and sees Karen laying on the ground near the Grape Tree. If he goes up and interacts, she says she has sprained her ankle. If the Player selects "Carry her", it will raise Karen's affection level towards him. If the Player selects "Get help", Kai will come to assist Karen, and it will raise her affection level with Kai.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen's Heart Affection Level to Green.

Dream Event: Locked in the Cellar

  • Description: The Player has a dream about being locked in a cellar with someone when he was visiting Flowerbud Village as a child. The day after the dream happens, go to Vineyard Cellar. When you get there, you'll be greeted by Karen and she'll ask if you want a tour. If the Player selects "Show me", Karen will guide him around the winery. When she goes to lead them outside, she finds the door locked. Go to the spot in the corner that looks different to the left, and you'll find an opening to outside. Karen will ask if the Player was the one she was locked in the cellar with as a child. If "It was me" is selected, it will raise her affection towards the Player.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen's Heart Affection Level to Yellow.

Special Photo: Kifu Fairies

  • Description: Karen will come to your house in Fall and invite you to watch the Kifu Fairies dance.
    Spoiler warning: below drop-down contains special photo image.


  • Requirements: Raise Karen's heart level to yellow heart before Year 1 Fall or Year 2 Fall, and be single. Must obtain the Door to Heaven Wine from Duke after befriending him. Then befriend the Harvest Sprites and have them tell you to ask the Harvest Goddess to revive the tree in the Vineyard. After the dream with the Harvest Goddess, this event will be available in early Fall.

Karen's Love Confession

  • Description: The Player is caught by Karen at the Beach, and she confesses her love for him.
  • Requirements: Be at a Pink Heart with Karen.

Trouble at the Vineyard

  • Participants: Karen, Gotz, Kai
  • Description: The Player watches the tail-end of an argument between Karen and Gotz, and then talks to Kai after the event to see what happened.
  • Requirements: This event occurs when first visiting the Vineyard on a sunny day.

Karen Looks Like A Bug

  • Participants: Karen, Maria
  • Description: The Player sees Maria and Karen when walking towards the Craftsman's House in Moon Mountain. Maria is trying to help Karen remove a grasshopper from Karen's hair, but Karen is panicking. After Maria removes it successfully, she observes it looks like Karen. Karen is offended, and storms off. Maria quietly murmurs her apology, but the only one who hears it is the Player.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen and Maria's heart affection levels to Green.

Ann and Karen Talk

  • Participants: Karen, Ann
  • Location: Vineyard
  • Description: When entering the Vineyard, the Player overhears Karen and Ann chatting. Karen says Ann doesn't have any troubles, and Ann objects strongly to her friend's statement. When Karen inquires what Ann's troubles are about, Ann responds "Cliff", and Karen asks if she means the lazy guy with a falcon (Cliff). Ann gets flustered and says it's not about that Cliff.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen and Ann's heart affection levels to Green.

Elli and Karen Argue

  • Participants: Karen, Elli
  • Location: Beach
  • Description: If the Player enters the Beach after raising both Karen and Elli's Heart Affection levels, he witnesses them having a conversation on the dock. Elli begins by saying Karen shouldn't worry her parents so much. Karen tells Elli it's none of her business, and Elli asks Karen what she'll do if something bad happens to her parents when she's gone. Karen insists it's worse if she stays because her parents are treating her poorly, to which Elli tells Karen she'll regret her choice later. After Elli's gone, Karen says she won't have any regrets, and it's her choice to make.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen and Elli's heart affection levels to Green.

Karen Makes Booze Out of EVERYTHING

  • Participants: Karen, Popuri
  • Location: Moon Mountain, near Craftsman's House
  • Description: The Player sees Karen and Popuri talking, and Popuri gives Karen a flower. Karen asks if she could turn the flower into wine, and Popuri teases that she's always making wine out of everything. Karen says it tastes good, and Popuri asks if she can taste the Moondrop wine when it's finished. Karen says she can, and leaves.
  • Requirements: Raise Karen and Popuri's heart affection levels to Green.

Karen Leaves

  • Participants: Karen, Sasha
  • Location: Beach
  • Description: The Player watches as Sasha runs after Karen. Karen tells her not to stop her, and Sasha still follows, and offers Karen money that she says is from her father. Karen is saddened by this, but tells her mother she'll do her best. She leaves.
  • Requirements: Have Karen's Heart Level below Green before the end of the second year.
  • Note: If this event occurs, Karen will never return to Flowerbud Village.

Kai's Confession

  • Description: Karen catches Kai at the Beach, reciting what he'll say to Karen if she says she's leaving. Kai, embarrassed, asks her how much she had heard. Karen makes an offhand remark that she thinks she'll stay, because after all, she can dance anywhere but only in Flowerbud Village Kai could be with her while she does it. Kai doesn't catch what she means, and Karen calls him silly.

Trivia

  • If you don't name your baby, Karen will name him. She gives him the name "Gary" during the childbirth scene. Afterwards, if you check your child's name, it will be Kelly and Karen will refer to him as Kelly. This is an error in translation.
  • The Harvest Sprites mention that the Vineyard's grape vines have been sleeping for the past 20 years, but were awake when the lady who made the Door to Heaven (Karen's Grandmother, Eve) was alive. That means Eve died 20 years prior to the beginning of the game.
  • Karen's age is estimated to be 23 based on a combination of in-game dialogue and information referenced in Bokujou Monogatari 2 Official Guide Book: Welcome to My Ranch. Since Eve has been deceased 20 years, and Gotz mentions Karen became loud around age 3 or 4, it could be that there was a lot of turmoil during that time that resulted in her change in behavior (a family loss).
  • Ann makes the comment that she and Karen are the same age in-game.
  • Karen helps the Player with crating eggs after marriage.
  • Karen hates fish and specifically states that in her dialogue after marriage.
  • In the cut Princess Vanilla content, it is mentioned by Kai that Karen has a love for turtles. In this cut content, it is implied she kissed a turtle.

Secrets

Cheatin' Heart

Karen is actually the easiest girl to marry if you know the proper way to go about it. For every 50 or so times that you show her your dog her heart level goes up once. Best way to do this without eating up a lot of in-game time is to take your dog to the bar when Karen's there and repetitively talk to her while holding the dog. It takes a little while, and it's a bit boring, but it's a lot faster (and cheaper) then giving her gifts.
