Tools (Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town)

Starting Tools

• Axe: Take this and you can be a lumberjack, it's okay. At first you only get to dice up some simple branches, so you'll want to upgrade it as soon as possible to speed up your wood chipping power.
• Hammer: You'll mostly need this for clearing the field and mine work. Again, you'll want to upgrade it as soon as possible since it can't destroy any of the larger rocks. It's hammer time.
• Sickle: You'll need this mostly for clearing out old, withered crops and cutting grass. Don't fear the reaper.
• Hoe: One of your most valuable tools. You have to till soil before you can plant seeds.
• Watering Can: Ah, water. The source of life. You'll have to use this on your crops every day to make them grow, unless it's raining. It's advisable to upgrade as soon as possible.

Other Tools

• Fishing Rod: How else to get fish? Just cast out
• Brush: You'll need this for your cows
• Milker: How else are you going to milk a cow? Your hands and a bucket? How primitive! Buy this from Saibara for 2000 G.
• Shears: For gathering wool and allowing your sheep to run around naked. Buy from Saibara for 1800 G.

Upgrading Tools

Upgrading is an important matter to do, as it helps the whole farming thing go along smoother. Just go to Saibara for this and give him the proper ore and tool to work with and it's just a matter of time before it's completed.

Copper: (1,000G)

• Axe - Chop a tree stump with 6 hits.
• Hammer - Smash a large stone in 3 hits.
• Sickle - Cut 3 squares of grass in one swing.
• Hoe - Till 2 squares of soil in front of you.
• Watering Can - Water 3 squares in front of you.
• Fishing Pole - Catch bigger and better fish.

Silver: (2,000G)

• Axe - Chop a tree stump with 3 hits.
• Hammer - Smash a large stone with 2 hits, smash a boulder with 6 hits.
• Sickle - Cut a 2x3 area of grass.
• Hoe - Till 3 squares of soil in front of you.
• Watering Can - Water a 2x3 area in front of you.
• Fishing Pole - Catch better fish.

Gold: (3,000G)

• Axe - Chop a tree stump with 2 hits.
• Hammer - Smash a large stone in 1 hit, smash a boulder with 3 hits.
• Sickle - Cut a 3x3 area of grass.
• Hoe - Till 4 squares of soil in front of you.
• Watering Can - Water 3x3 area of land in front of you.

• Axe - Chop a tree stump in 1 hit.
• Hammer - Smash a boulder in 2 hits, but can't smash a large boulder.
• Sickle - Cut a 5x5 area of grass.
• Hoe - Till a 6 squares of soil in front of you.
• Watering Can - Water a 3x5 area of land in front of you.
• Fishing Pole - Catch better fish.
