Description

Finley (キキポロ, Kikiporo) is a Nature Sprite that is associated with fish. They have a carefree "go with the flow" personality that matches their water theming, and their dialogue contains many puns related to fishing and water. Their hat loosely resembles a simplified blue Shachihoko, with the fish's blocky head on the bottom and tail fin raised high. Their garments are blue on the top and red on the bottom, with a few scale-like pieces around the neck and shoulders, and two rows of scales around their waist. Like all sprites, chatting with Finley will give the farmer tips about the townsfolk, and reveal more of their laid-back personality. Their Cheer Time effect boosts item freshness.

Locations

They are usually found after 10:00am in the middle of Zephyr Town, in the clearing to the left of the farm's entrance.

On rainy and stormy days, they will take shelter under the nearby trees that hug the cliff wall.

During Bazaar days, they're found by the Nature Sprite's Bazaar Stall, and are one of four who tag team out to show the farmer where the path to their stall is.

During festivals held in the town square, they can be found on top of Freya's house from 9:30am until the festival ends. Then they convene in front of the Nature Sprite's House with the other sprites, and go inside shortly after.

Quality Progression

Once the farmer makes it to Village Bazaar rank, a cutscene icon will appear in front of the Nature Sprite's House. Once triggered, the sprites will appear in various places around the map, and it will unlock your ability to donate items to them. Donating items will increase that item type's quality. Every fourth level reached will raise the item type's quality up by ☆0.5, with the final 50th level unlocking ☆7 quality. The rarity of the item and whether it's requested as a bonus for that week affects the amount of points the item gives. Finley accepts all caught fish, but not trash, treasures, or fish-based meals.

Trivia

• On Igusa Matsuyama's blog on their post regarding Grand Bazaar's release, they reveal that they made a clay figure of Finley's hat to convey the three-dimensional design to the 3D modelers.
• The same English voice actor is used for all five Nature Sprites, which is also true for the Japanese voice actor.
• Finley's dialogue suggests that they were originally meant to accept bugs as well as fish.
