Description

Penny (ココポロ, Kokoporo) is a Nature Sprite that is associated with bugs, despite their coin and good luck themeing. They have an attention-seeking and playful personality, often referring to shiny things and coins in their pun-filled dialogue. The hat on their head resembles a daruma, combined with a maneki-neko with one paw raised, which Penny often mimics in their own hand's pose. When Penny's expression changes, the hat changes expressions to match. Their garments are mostly red, with a pattern line of Japanese koban decorating the lower half of their clothing. Like all sprites, chatting with Penny will give the farmer tips about the townsfolk, and reveal more of their boisterous personality. Their Cheer Time effect boosts item freshness. Their Cheer Time effect may let the farmer sell more items overall.

Locations

They are usually found after 10:00am in the middle of Zephyr Town, on the roof of Café Madeleine.

On rainy and stormy days, they will take shelter under Café Madeleine's awning.

During Bazaar days, they're found by the Nature Sprite's Bazaar Stall as the shopkeeper, and are accessible to talk to normally to donate items.

During festivals held in the town square, they can be found on top of Diana's house from 9:30am until the festival ends. Then they convene in front of the Nature Sprite's House with the other sprites, and go inside shortly after.

Quality Progression

Once the farmer makes it to Village Bazaar rank, a cutscene icon will appear in front of the Nature Sprite's House. Once triggered, the sprites will appear in various places around the map, and it will unlock your ability to donate items to them. Donating items will increase that item type's quality. Every fourth level reached will raise the item type's quality up by ☆0.5, with the final 50th level unlocking ☆7 quality. The rarity of the item and whether it's requested as a bonus for that week affects the amount of points the item gives. Penny accepts all caught bugs and critters.

Trivia

• Though being the one to accept bugs and critters, Penny's themeing and dialogue heavily implies they may have originally accepted ores, medals, or were only supposed to run the sprites' shop.
• The same English voice actor is used for all five Nature Sprites, which is also true for the Japanese voice actor.
