Mines in Olive Town are both simple and complex.<ref>https://ranchstoryblog.tumblr.com/post/636970026219536384/new-pioneers-of-olive-town-information-via-tgbus</ref> Both types of mines feature multiple levels, though complex mines will be deeper than the minimal floors of simple mines. In each floor the shape and size of the layout will be random. The positions of the ladders will be different every time. Mine 1 is a simple mine with no underground lakes while the other mines have underground lakes on floors that are multiples of 10. Mine 2 and Mine 3 will have floors with a larger layout and different dangers to avoid.

Full mines return to ''Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town''. The mines feature multiple levels, with each subsequent mine being deeper than the last. Each floor layout's shape and size is random, and the positions of the ladders are also different every time. The Novice Mine is a simple mine with no underground lakes while the other mines have underground lakes on floors that are multiples of 10. The Intermediate and Expert mines will have floors with a larger layout and different dangers to avoid.

On each floor there are two ladders, one will take you to the next floor down, the other is an exit. If a ladder going down isn't immediately visible then break rocks to find the hidden ladder. Ladders won't appear directly next to a wall. Mine 3 has pitfalls which can cause you to fall a random number of floors from 1-10. Your stamina will decrease in proportion to the number of floors you fall. Keep your stamina high by eating cooked dishes. In Mine 2 and Mine 3 the underground lakes will hold a different variety of fish. All together the lakes of Mine 2 and Mine 3 will be noted as [[Fishing (Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town)#Area_2_Mine_Lake|Area 2 Mine Lake]] and [[Fishing (Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town)#Area_3_Mine_Lake|Area 3 Mine Lake]]. The lakes within one mine will have the same variety of fish, so it doesn't matter which floor the lake is on.

A baddie will leave the mine floor after several strikes from your hammer. You can hammer Baddies directly, but the best way to take care of stronger baddies is to charge your hammer away and strike them from far away. Baddie 3 will move the fastest and create a much larger shock wave, but the Orichalcum hammer will make it a bit easier to take care of Baddie 3. In Mine 2, Baddie 1 will appear alone but in Mine 3 you will have to deal with two or three Baddies at the same time. The common drops of all baddies are wild berries, coal lumps, and clay. Each type of Baddie also has a chance of dropping a different type of object for appraisal.

As your mining skill level increases it takes less swings to destroy rocks and gem deposits. The Rock Salt found on the beaches in Farm Area 2 and 3 take the same number of swings as Rocks. Rock salt also gives the same number of skill points as Rocks. The number of hits that Baddies take depends only on hammer type.

Get that hammer hammering!

Mining is a recurring feature in the Story of Seasons (牧場物語, Bokujou Monogatari) series.

The mines of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town are multi-level, allowing Players to go spelunking. Lower levels of the mines will yield rarer materials, but be mindful of the traps as you delve into the depths!

Mines

Ore veins will let you collect multiple items!

Full mines return to Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town.

The underground lakes found in the mines will hold a different variety of fish. All together the lakes of the Intermediate Mine and Expert Mine will be noted as Area 2 Mine Lakes and Area 3 Mine Lakes. All lakes within one mine will have the same variety of fish, so it doesn't matter which floor the lake is on.

Ladders and Pitfalls

On each floor there are two ladders, one will take you to the next floor down, the other is an exit. If a ladder going down isn't immediately visible, then break rocks to find the hidden ladder. Additionally, ladders won't appear directly next to a wall. The Expert Mine has pitfalls which can cause you to fall a random number of floors from 1-10. Be careful, as your stamina will decrease in proportion to the number of floors you fall. Keep your stamina high by eating cooked dishes!

Magma Sprite's Rewards

There are three mines found throughout the farm sections. The Magma Sprite will give a reward the first time you reach the final floor of each mine. Time will continue to pass in the mines and at 2:00 am the next day will start after a message pops up about heading to bed.

Mine Location Last Floor Reward
1 - Novice Mine Farm Area 1 B10 White Opal x3
2 - Intermediate Mine Farm Area 2 B30 Lava Caves is unlocked
3 - Expert Mine Farm Area 3 B50 Diamond x3

Raw Materials from Rocks

To purchase raw materials from the Olive General Store, ship at least one of each type. Raw gems are not available for purchase.

Baddies

Starting with the Intermediate Mine, there will be moles called Baddies appearing on most mine floors. When they pop out of the ground, they create a shock wave that depletes the player's stamina. Coming into direct contact with the Baddie will also deplete stamina.

A baddie will leave the mine floor after several strikes from your hammer. You can hammer baddies directly, but the best way to take care of stronger baddies is to charge your hammer away and strike them from far away. The Expert Baddie will move the fastest and create a much larger shock wave, but the Orichalcum hammer will make it a bit easier to handle. In the Intermediate Mine, a Novice Baddie will appear alone but in the Expert Mine you will have to deal with several baddies at the same time. A Novice Baddie has a shock wave that reaches almost 1 full square of space, the Intermediate Baddie's shock wave has a range greater than 1 full square and the Expert Baddie's shock wave covers 2 full squares. The common drops of all baddies are wild berries, coal lumps, and clay. Each type of baddie also has a chance of dropping a different type of object for appraisal.

Mining Skill and Efficiency

As your mining skill level increases it takes less swings to destroy rocks and gem deposits. The Rock Salt found on the beaches in Farm Area 2 and 3 take the same number of swings as Rocks. Rock salt also gives the same number of skill points as Rocks. The number of hits that Baddies take depends only on hammer type.
