Introduction

Obviously, you have to earn your money in order to get somewhere. No one wants to be poor. But don't worry, it's not that hard. There are many different ways to earn money, while still having fun!

The more popular ways are Foraging, Fishing, and Mining. You can raise animals and crops too but thats a different thing altogether.

Foraging

You'll probably find yourself foraging the most when you start the game and you have no stable source of income. Running around from here and there collecting everything you find will earn you a lot of money fast, but you should consider the balance between how much you sell, eat, or give. You can run out of energy fast and sometimes herbs are the best thing to get it up before you faint.

At the beginning, you will only have access to part of the island, so you will be limited, but as the island opens up to you, you soon find more and more things to forage.

Fishing

Always a great fun to spend your time, when fishing, you'll never know what you'll get. You might get some average fish, or maybe a big fish! Maybe you'll be unlucky and find a fishbone or trash, but then again, maybe you'll find deep sea treasure! Fishing can be addictive, and is a great way to spend your evenings in the game fishing away. I always find that when I'm about to stop fishing, I keep finding myself staying a little bit longer to see what I would have gotten. Sometimes, it makes all the difference. Not only that, but lots of islanders will only move in if you fish a lot, not to mention all the people that love it when you give them fish!

Mining

You can't start straight away mining, it will take you a while to get there, but if you work hard, you can get there fast. Mining is probably the best way to earn money not including livestock/crop raising. You could go in for a short while and only go down a few levels, but all the ores and gems you find sell for buckets of cash. If you been struggling to earn enough money to buy that expansion you really want, mining is great to go in and spend a few hours in-game breaking stones and collecting all the treasure you find to sell. Before you know it, you'll have found enough gems to pay for what you want, and more!
