Description

Mary is a reserved but polite young lady who runs the Library in Mineral Town. She lives in the house attached to the library with her parents, Basil and Anna. She loves reading and aspires to be a novelist.

Black Heart Event

• Weather: Any Weather
• Correct Choice: Can I help? +3000 points
• Incorrect Choice: Be careful. 0 points
• Description: The Player enters Mary's Library for the first time. Mary is talking out loud about something she's thinking about as she's walking. She bumps into the Player, and quickly apologizes. If the Player selects "Can I help?" she explains that she was thinking about the novel that she was writing, and she's experiencing some writer's block. She then offers to the Player that he can read anything in her library if he wants. If the Player selects "Be careful", she is sad and says she'll be careful from now on.

Purple Heart Event

• Location: Mary's Library
• Day/Time: Tuesday through Thursday or Saturday/Sunday, 10:00AM to 4:00PM
• Weather: Any Weather
• Correct Choice: I’d be glad to. +3000 points
• Incorrect Choice: Sorry, I don’t want to. -2000 points
• Description: The Player enters Mary's Library and sees her staring at the shelves. She wonders where something went out loud, then realizes the Player is there. After greeting him, she explains she misplaced a book she was using as a reference for her novel. Mary asks the Player if he would mind helping her locate the book. If the Player selects "I'd be glad to", they search the shelves until the Player finds it in the second shelf. Mary is elated, and confesses her memory was jogged when he held up the book- she says she's indebted to him for his good deed. If the Player says "Sorry, I don't want to", Mary will apologize for asking, and then wonder out loud where she could have possibly put the book.

Blue Heart Event

• Location: Peak of Mother's Hill
• Day/Time: Monday, 12:00PM to 4:59PM
• Weather: Sunny
• Correct Choice: Sometimes. +3000 points
• Incorrect Choice: Never. -2000 points
• Description: On a sunny Monday, the Player walks up to the peak of Mother's Hill and sees Mary there. She seems to be crying, and mutters to herself that she wishes she could write like this. When the Player approaches, he sees she's been reading a novel. Mary explains she found this book when cleaning out the bookshelves, and she wanted to read it somewhere with a nice view. She asks if you ever cry when you read good books. If the Player selects "Sometimes", Mary says she likes people who respond to good books and she thinks it's a sign of intelligence. She insists the Player take the book she's been reading as a gift, and leaves. If the Player responds "Never", Mary says it's probably because he hasn't read the right books yet and she leaves.

Rival Heart Event 1

• Location: Saibara the Blacksmith
• Day/Time: Any day but Thursday, 10:00AM to 4:00PM
• Weather: Sunny
• Description: The Player enters the Blacksmith's. He witnesses Mary stopping by to talk to Saibara to thank him for the good work he's done for her in the past. Saibara appreciates her gratitude, but as they're talking, Gray hurts his hand as he's working. Gray insists nothing is wrong, and Saibara blames Gray's poor workmanship as the reason for his injury - but Mary won't accept that Gray is trying to act tough as he's bleeding. She takes care of his injury, and then says goodbye. Gray is all smiles after their encounter, and Saibara is left dumbfounded at Gray's sudden good mood.

Trivia

• The Band-Aid is an unused item in the game; it exists, but cannot be obtained in normal game play. The Queen of the Night and the Plant Encyclopedia can technically be obtained, but they are invisible in your inventory. All of these items are worth +800 Affection Points when given to a girl.
