Official Guide Comics

These Igusa comics are found in the guide NDS 牧場物語 キミと育つ島 公式ガイドブック[2], but were also published in the Japanese children's magazine Shogaku San-Nen-Sei. Mark's Story appeared in the January 2007 volume, and Chelsea's Story was printed in the February 2007 volume.
(Catte's note: I used a different scanner than my regular for these comics and the quality did not turn out as good as I'd like. The comics are still readable, though!)

  18. (Translator note: There is a joke here that I tried to translate well into English. The original second panel says: みんな! ハッテン! ハッテン! ハッタン! ハッテン(Hatten/発展) is "Development". ハッタン(Hattan/八端) is an eight-string braided cable. The two sound similar and led to Shea's tongue twister.) Shea's section covers the development of Sunny Island and the different visitors that come with the island's growth.
  19. Alisa talks about regenerating crops and fruit trees and utilizing the greenhouse for a stable income!
  20. Auntie Mirabelle wants you to own some animals! Make sure you take care of them, too!
  21. (Translator note: This entire comic is a Manzai skit (Japanese wordplay comedy) and almost none of it translated well into English. However, because the panels were drawn specifically in comedic fashion, we couldn't just translate the script literally, or all the nuance would be lost. The jokes were rewritten entirely into similar English puns to the best of our ability. The original jokes' explanations: [First Panel] Denny is talking about giving the reader 150yen back from 1000yen (receiving change). Kuu (the bird) says they are to talk about 釣り (fishing/tsuri) not おつり (coin change/ otsuri); [Second Panel] Denny wants to decorate a "real fir tree". This is from "クリスマスツリーは本物のもみの木で!" (The Christmas Tree is a Real Fir Tree!) - A popular slogan for Christmas sales of tree farms in Japan (where Christmas is a popular commercial holiday!) The joke was rewritten into a multi-layer pun about trees; [Third panel] Once again, Denny mixes up 釣り (fishing/tsuri) with まつり (festival/matsuri) and Kuu says he won't be lured/caught (つられて/tsurarete) looking like a fool (boke/ぼけ - used in manzai)- the joke was redirected towards a fishing pun.) Denny's section covers obtaining the fishing rod, cooking with fish, unlocking Denny and Lanna, fishing spots, and unlockable visitor npcs!
  22. Regis's section is all about tips on how to gather ore and gems from the mine efficiently! From the best food strategies to tile management - Regis explains it all!
