Description

A dwarf who lives and works at the general store. He's hot-blooded and tends to push his luck, but even if he'll never admit it, he's a hard worker and an honest man deep down. And above all else, he absolutely loves to eat.

Doug is a dwarf that works at the Sincerity General Store. A seemingly easygoing and laid-back individual, he tends to act before he thinks, making him a bit of a troublemaker. He tries hard to maintain this image, and is flustered when his acts of kindness are pointed out. He lives with Blossom and is often looking out for her, helping her out with the store and constantly worrying about her health.

Doug was initially sent to Selphia as a spy for the Sechs Empire. He was told by the Sechs that his parents were killed by Ventuswill, which fueled his desire for revenge and hatred against Ventuswill. However, he is warmly welcomed by both Blossom and the rest of the town, and quickly became attached to them. Throughout the main story, he expresses his grudge against Ventuswill and the town's (as well as the player's) seemingly blind love to her. He also reports back to the Sechs Empire about the Rune Spheres, running into the player in Water Ruins while conducting espionage. Because of this, the player can only have up to a level 3 relationship with Doug until the main and post-game story is beaten.

His conflicting feelings continue to grow, especially after the revealation of Ventuswill's true nature. When the Sechs invades Selphia to steal the Rune Spheres, Doug tries to stop them, and is injured in an attempt to protect Blossom. There, it is revealed that not only was Doug sent as a spy for the Sechs, but also that it was actually the Sechs who killed his parents, who may have betrayed the Empire's orders. At the clinic, Doug apologizes for betraying the town, and helps the player by giving them the location of the Imperial research lab in Sercerezo Hill.
