Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness is, for many, the perfect mix of Magical Melody graphics, with DS gameplay and characters. Taking advantage of the DS's power, Marvelous takes Harvest Moon into the 3D world for the first time ever on a handheld system. Much like the GBC3 Version, you find yourself with the choice of being a boy or a girl, including a wide range of bachelors and bachelorettes to suit your tastes.
Farming fun returns to the Nintendo DS system! ''Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness'' takes you aboard a ship, sailing to some islands and leaving city life behind to start your life over. On your way there, a storm overwhelms the vessel, capsizing it and shipwrecking everyone on board! You awaken on an unknown, abandoned island at the sound of an old man's voice. You're among a few survivors of the wreckage that made their way to this island. Making lemonade out of lemons, the task of becoming the island's rancher falls on your hands; after all, that was what you had set out to become in the first place!

Upon crashing on an island with only a few other survivors, you must restore not only your farm, but the entire island back to its proper glory.
