Born and raised in a fishing family, Denny (ダニー, Danii) is very familiar with the sea. He heard there's lots to be found at the island, so he came to check it out. Though normally cheerful, he has quite a temper when mad. He raises Minah birds. His parents passed away in a tragic event before the protagonist meets him.

Descendent of a long line of fishermen. Came to the island in search of better fish to catch.

Heart Events

Purple Heart: The Dangers of Fishing

  • Japanese: (ダニーの武勇伝)
  • To Trigger: Enter Denny's house in the morning, sunny day.
  • Answer Correctly: Denny +3000 LP. Go on to Blue Event 1.
  • Answer Incorrectly: Denny -2000 LP. Go on to Blue Event 2.
  • Description: Denny welcomes you to his house. You came at a good time; he just got back from fishing! He's happy because he was able to make a good catch today. He notices that you're looking around his house, and explains that it's cluttered with all the tools he uses for fishing. His job is difficult, since he has to keep up with the maintenance of every single tool he has. It's even more difficult to work on a ship, since there's a chance the sharks can get your catch. Denny's even had to fight off sharks a few times! Ask him if that's true (えー、本当に・・・？) and he'll assure you it is. He managed to snag a tooth from the first shark he fought, and now wears it on a string around his neck. He invites you to come back and take a look around whenever you'd like.

Blue Heart 1: Fish Story

  • Japanese: (魚拓)
  • To Trigger: Enter Denny's house. Say the correct option during the purple event.
  • Answer Correctly: Denny +3000 LP. Go on to Yellow Event 1.
  • Answer Incorrectly: Denny -2000 LP -OR- -1500 LP. Go on to Yellow Event 2.
  • Description: Answer with the option: どんな魚だったの？("What kind of fish was it?") and then 応援してるよ！("I'm rooting for you!")

Blue Heart 2: Denny's Boat

  • Japanese: (漁師の決まりごと)
  • To Trigger: Enter Denny's house. You must have answered incorrectly during the purple event.
  • Answer Correctly: Denny +3000 LP. Go on to Yellow Event 3.
  • Answer Incorrectly: Denny -2000 LP. Go on to Yellow Event 4.
  • Description: Answer with the option: ・・・決まりならしかたないかぁ。("It can't be helped.")

Yellow Heart 1: Denny's Appetite

  • Japanese: (大食いダニー)
  • To Trigger: Enter the diner while Denny is there. You must have answered correctly in the "Fish Print" event.
  • Answer Correctly: Denny +3000 LP. Proceed to Red event (if you want to marry him).
  • Answer Incorrectly: Denny -2000 LP, but you can still proceed directly to the Red event (if you want to marry him).
  • Description: Denny's ordered a lot of food, since he's always hungry. Help him eat it. Answer with the option: それもそっか。(Along the lines of, that you're not sure if he can really eat that much!)

Yellow Heart 2: A Foreboding Wind...

  • Japanese: (風の吹く日)
  • To Trigger: Enter the beach area. You must have answered incorrectly in the first Blue event.
  • Answer Correctly: Denny +3000 LP. Proceed to Red event (if you want to marry him).
  • Answer Incorrectly: Denny -2000 LP, but you can still proceed directly to the Red event (if you want to marry him).
  • Description: This is evidently a talk about Denny's deceased parents. Tell Denny that he shouldn't do more than he can (option: 無理しなくていいよ。)

Yellow Heart 3: How Do You Like Your Fish?

  • Japanese: (魚はお好き？)
  • To Trigger: Enter Chen's shop. You must have answered correctly in the second Blue event.
  • Answer Correctly: Denny +3000 LP, Chen +1000 FP. Proceed to Red event (if you want to marry him).
  • Answer Incorrectly: Denny -2000 LP -OR- +1500 LP, but you can still proceed directly to the Red event (if you want to marry him). Chen +1000 FP -OR- -1000 FP.
  • Description: Answer that you really like Sashimi (raw, sliced fish) with option: やっぱり生が一番、刺身でしょ！

Yellow Heart 4: Denny's Embarrassment

  • Japanese: (バッドタイミング)
  • To Trigger: Enter the beach area. You must have answered incorrectly in the second Blue event.
  • Effect: Denny -1000 LP. Go on to Orange event.
  • Description: You don't get to say anything.

Orange Heart: Denny's Old House

  • Japanese: (家の修理)
  • To Trigger: Enter the beach area the day after a blizzard or typhoon. You must have gotten the orange event.
  • Effect: Denny +2000 LP.
  • Description: You can then propose to Denny if you want to marry him (and once his LP is maxed out!)

Red Heart: Popping the Question

  • Description: Once you've met all the marriage requirements, give him the Blue Feather.

Red Heart: The Wedding

  • Description: You marry Denny a week after proposing.

Rival Events

Event 1: The Pop Star and the Fisherman

  • Japanese: (漁師とアイドル)
  • To Trigger: Enter the diner in the evening, when both Lanna and Denny are there. You must have a decent friendship (1~2+ FP) with one of them (the one who is not available to your character). The one available to you must not be above a purple heart.
  • Description: Denny strikes up a conversation with the pretty girl sitting across the table from him. He comments that Lanna used to be an idol. Lanna says that yes, she is one, she's just taking a break right now. Then Denny asks her, isn't fishing her hobby? Lanna immediately takes offense, asking Denny if he thinks it's improper for an idol to like to fish. She hates it when people tell her that! Denny didn't mean it that way. Since he is busy fishing all the time, he has no idea what an idol should or should not do. Denny thinks an idol who is also good at fishing would be very popular! Lanna is very happy that he said that, and gives him a very special autograph! Denny says he'll hang it up in his house for all to see.

Event 2: Trying to Teach Lanna

  • Japanese: (壊れた釣竿)
  • To Trigger: Enter Lanna's house late at night or some other time when she's inside. Year 2 or beyond. This is a very random event and may take a long time to trigger. You must have a decent friendship (2~3+ FP) with one of them (the one who is not available to your character). The one available to you must not be above a blue heart.
  • Description: Lanna has broken one of her favorite fishing rods, and Denny has come to her house to take a look at it. Lanna asks him if he can fix it. Denny says that of course he can: he has all sorts of tools to fix fishing equipment! However, he tells her that for the most part, she should be able to fix things herself. Lily gets angry and tells him that she knows how to fix fishing rods. This was the only time she couldn't! Denny tells her to calm down; he was just teasing her. Besides, when she's mad, it spoils her pretty face. Lanna giggles. This again? Denny says that all the time. Denny finally finishes fixing the fishing rod, and asks her to test it out. Lanna says she can already tell that it's fixed. Besides, she knows that if Denny fixed it, she won't have to worry about it working correctly or not. Now she can fish again, whereas she couldn't as long as her fishing rod was broken... For some reason Lanna takes offense at that, and says that wasn't the case! She has other rods, too. Confused, Denny asks her what happened to the girl who came to him crying, begging him to fix her fishing rod...?

Event 3: Silly Argument

  • Japanese: (待ちぼうけ)
  • To Trigger: Enter the diner at a time when both Lanna and Denny are inside. Year 3 or beyond. Once again, this is a very random event that may take a while to trigger. You must have a decent friendship (3~5+ FP) with one of them (the one who is not available to your character). The one available to you must not be above a green or yellow heart. If you're already married, then the heart level doesn't matter.
  • Description: As soon as you enter, Lanna comes up to you and demands that you hear her out! Denny is so mean! He promised to go fishing with her, and stood her up! But Denny insists that she's the one who stood him up. Lanna turns to him and tells him that she was waiting by the well, just as they'd agreed. He's a liar! Denny, furious, tells her that she the liar. He was waiting by the well! Oh, sure, Lanna says, he'll say he was waiting there once he's been exposed as the real liar! Just ask the old man at the diner who took out the trash: he'll say that he saw Lanna waiting by the well!!
    Denny comes to a realization. He asks Lanna if she was waiting by the well in front of the diner. Of course she was! When Denny invited her to go fishing, and told her to meet him at the well, that wasn't the well that he was talking about. He meant that they'd meet at the well in back of Chen's store... and that's where he was waiting. Again, she's not sure if he's telling the truth or not, but Denny says he is. She went to the wrong well! Lanna apologizes and says she misunderstood. Denny asks her to apologize to you, too, and Lanna says she's sorry for getting you wrapped up in this. She then asks Denny if he's angry with her? Denny thinks a moment then says no, he's not mad anymore, even though Lanna is such a troublesome person! Lanna giggles and says she'll make sure she knows exactly where to meet next time.

Event 4: Denny's Resolution

  • Japanese: (ダニーの決心)
  • To Trigger: Enter the beach during the early afternoon. As with most of their events, this event is very random and could take a while to trigger. You must be in Year 4 or beyond. You must have a decent friendship (5~7+ FP) with one of them (the one who is not available to your character). The one available to you must not be above an orange heart. If you're already married, then the heart level doesn't matter.
  • Description: Lanna is standing by the water's edge, and Denny walks up and asks her how she's doing. Lanna says she's doing great! She recently caught a fish that was really, really big, and wanted to show it to Denny, but couldn't. Denny says he wishes he could have seen it, too. Lanna realizes that he doesn't believe that she actually caught a fish that large, and Denny tells her she's right. He doesn't believe her! Naturally, Lanna gets angry, but Denny tells her that they should go fishing again soon. That way, if she catches another huge one, he'll be able to see it. Lanna agrees, and says she'll shock him by catching a fish bigger than any he's ever seen before! Denny suddenly turns away, blushing, and mumbles that he's the one who has a big surprise. (He's going to propose to her.) Lanna asks him what he's talking about, and he quickly says that he won't let her beat him! Lanna says he's wrong, she will beat him, then realizes she has to go. Once she's gone, Denny offers a quiet prayer to the fishing god, asking him for the courage to carry out what he wants to do...
    Denny must propose to her right after the event takes place, because about a week after you see this event (depending on festivals and the weather), Danny and Lanna will be married.

After Marriage Event 1: Good Luck, Lanna.

  • Japanese: (リリーの異変？)
  • To Trigger: A season after Denny and Lanna's wedding, enter Lanna's house in the early morning or some other time when she's there. Denny isn't required to be there, though.
  • Description: Denny has called Dr. Trent to come and take a look at Lanna. She hasn't been well lately, and she and Denny have no idea what's going on. The doctor tells them that she isn't sick, she's pregnant! Lanna and Denny are both very happy. Lanna has always wanted a child of her own! Dr. Trent suggests that when it comes near the time for Lanna to give birth, she ought to go to the hospital in the city, where she can get proper medical attention, should the need arise. They agree to that, and the doctor promises to come and take Lily to the city when her times draws close.

After Marriage Event 2: The Big News

  • Japanese: (いってらっしゃいリリー)
  • To Trigger: Happens automatically two seasons after you get the "Lanna's Accident?" event.
  • Description: Denny drops by your house to tell you that Lanna is leaving for the hospital in town today. She's due to have the baby any day now. You go down to the beach with him, where Dr. Trent, Lanna, Chen, and Charlie are already waiting. Chen tells her that though the birthing might be difficult, she should do her best. Charlie says he'll play with the baby once they get back! Lanna thanks them both, and then tells Denny that she'll be back soon. Denny tells her to do her best and assures her he'll be eagerly awaiting her return. Lanna thanks everyone for coming to see her off, and then she and the doctor board the boat. Denny then decides that he wants to go with her, too! Charlie thinks that's a good idea, since Lanna didn't seem as happy as usual. Chen too tells him to go, so Denny promises to be back soon and then gets on the boat.
    After this event, you won't be able to talk to either Denny or Lanna for a little while.

After Marriage Event 3: Denny & Lanna, Back Again!

  • Japanese: (おかえりダニー＆リリー)
  • To Trigger: Happens automatically one season after Denny and Lanna leave.
  • Description: Denny comes to your house to inform you that he and Lanna are back. Lanna gave birth to a healthy baby, and now Lanna's strength has returned, so they're back home. He wants you to come and meet his new family sometime! After this event, their daughter, Ross (Ruku), will always be in Lanna's house, in the room on the left. Unfortunately, if neither of her parents are at home, Ross will be locked in the house, so on most days, you can talk to her only in the morning or late at night. Ross takes after her mother, although she thinks it's bizarre that Lanna makes her call her "Li-chan" instead of "Mommy," and she's also disappointed that her parents never let her go fishing with them!
