In Japanese speech, the usage of personal pronouns (such as Watashi or Boku) indicate to readers how a specific character views themselves in regards to the context of a conversation.<ref>[https://legendsoflocalization.com/personal-pronouns-in-japanese/| Japanese Personal Pronouns]</ref><br/>
This is no different within the Japanese version of ''Tree of Tranquility''. (See the References for more information.)<br/>
The children in the Japanese version use the following personal pronouns:

*'''Cool''': [B] ぼく (Boku)/[G] あたし (Atashi)
*'''Mischievous''': [B] ぼく (Boku)/[G] あたし (Atashi)
*'''Fiery''': [B] おれ (Ore)/[G] あたい (Atai)
*'''Brash''': [B] ぼく (Boku)/[G] あたし (Atashi)
<br/>

*'''Romantic''': Papa, Mama
*'''Cool''': Father, Mother
*'''Mischievous''': Daddy, Mommy
*'''Fiery''': Dad, Mom
*'''Brash''': Papa, Mama

For the townspeople on the island, it's a bit of a tradition to ask the Goddess to bless the pregnancy and make sure all goes well. You're given the option to decline to go, but doing so will upset your spouse and cause you to be dragged along anyway! Your spouse will pray to the Goddess, then ask for your preference of the child's gender. You can choose either way, or leave it up to fate to decide. After offering another prayer, the two of you return home and reflect happily on your choice.

Description (About)

When you finally settle down with your life partner, the next step is creating a family with the one you love. Tree of Tranquility's child system is different from previous games; the child you can have will gain an appearance and personality dependent on the person you have married. You can only have a single child, and they can be either a boy or a girl. They will always remain a child, but can help with chores around the farm.

"The cute child of <Mother> and <Father>. Growing up fast and in good health."- Your Child's Town Hall Resident Card

Appearance and Personality

As aforementioned, each child has its own appearance and personality, with the personality determined by the candidate you marry.
The possible personalities are: Romantic, Cool, Mischievous, Fiery, and Brash. Below are the descriptions for each personality[1]:

  • Romantic: These children are always bright and cheerful. They tend to be wishful thinkers.
  • Cool: These children speak using formal and polite words. They're pretty studious, too.
  • Mischievous: These children are always full of energy. They can be a little selfish sometimes.
