	Doug was initially sent to Selphia as a spy for the Sechs Empire. He was told by the Sechs that his parents were killed by [[Ventuswill (Rune Factory 4)\|Ventuswill]], which fueled his desire for revenge and hatred against the dragon. However, he is warmly welcomed by both Blossom and the rest of the town, and quickly became attached to them. Throughout the main story, he expresses his grudge against Ventuswill and the town's (as well as the player's) seemingly blind love to her. He also reports back to the Sechs Empire about the Rune Spheres, running into the player in Water Ruins while conducting espionage. At the clinic, Doug apologizes for betraying the town, and helps the player by giving them the location of the Imperial research lab in Sercerezo Hill.
